I thought I would answer Bill Jemison's question about not seeing his own posts here, since the answer might be of general interest. 1. Bill's posts have indeed been getting to the list. 2. There is a list option than you can control that determines whether you can see your own posts. Go to: https://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/ listinfo/fractint then go to the very bottom option, which is somewhat frighteningly captioned "unsubscribe or edit options". Then give your password at the next screen in the top section (nope don't press the "unsubscribe" button unless that's really what you want.) Then go to the fourth option with the caption:
*Receive your own posts to the list?*
Ordinarily, you will get a copy of every message you post to the list. If you don't want to receive this copy, set this option to *No*.
But since the default is to see your posts, that is probably not Bill's problem. So,
3. If the above setting was "yes", then maybe your posts are suppressed by your email service. Google is your friend. I found this, but just try searching for "messages sent to mailing list not shown in gmail". Have a look at: https://webapps.stackexchange .com/questions/73779/messages-sent-to-mailing-list-not-shown-in-gmail My own email is actually Gmail, and for sanity I have a filter that sorts all my list mail into appropriate folders (if "folders" is the right word).. I just looked and my own Fractint posts seem to show up. 4. Finally, you can always check the archives to see if your message got posted. See: https://mailman.xmission.com/lurker/list/fractint.en.html. Probably no longer true, but when I clicked that link just now, the top message was Bill's message about not seeing his posts :-) Before I end, let me say that Paul N. Lee is in my thoughts. Most of us here are of a certain age; probably not too many Millennials are fans of DOS programs like fractint. That said, most of us hope we still have quite a few years left, but alas, some of us don't. Tim
