Apparently, the Corel program strips out the encoded GIF data when it saves a GIF file. When you save the altered image, do not overwrite the original. Then load the altered image into Fractint and save the new colors as a *.map file. Reload the original unaltered image into Fractint and load the *.map file that you have just saved into the original. Save the resulting image, which now contains both data and altered colors.
