Looks interesting .

 I'm using xfractint 20.  on Ubuntu 13.10 . 

 This is installed into /usr/share/xfractint .

 To edit the formulas , via say gedit , you need to

use the sudo command from the terminal window with

the editor .

 The browse , from within xfractint for the formula file  .
