Subject: [Fractint] Re: Fractint and
Windows XP
Thanks to Tony et al. I have added a second hard
drive to my machine. I created a FAT partitiion on it and put Fractint
there. I created a Fractint.cfg file by booting to DOS with a Windows 98
boot disk and running makefcfg.exe.
Oddly, the video modes in the new
Fractint.cfg all work except one, 1600 x 1200. I can live with that
though. I can use the disk video modes if I need to create a hi res
picture for printing.
I still cannot get the program to use any video
mode above 640 x 480 when going through Windows XP. I must still
boot to DOS to run Fractint to get the rest of the modes in Fractint.cfg to
work. It does not matter which boot disk I use for this, by the way, the
XP or 98 version.
