Why use the tessie method for rendering? It is slower and actually less accurate than the passes=g option! Essentially, it sucks. The only redeeming quality is that it looks cool when working; I actually used it in an animation some years ago.
I always use passes=1. If your gonna do something do it right. Slower, but most accurate. And these complex fractal formula have so much intricate detail that is otherwise lost. Using tesseral because it´s the fastest way to edit images - center and angles - in low reso. But you´re right if it´s done will change rendering method. Albrecht
