One problem it has in the RSS feeder I am using is how the entries are ordered. There are several ways to sort the list and I am trying sort by ascending date.
I'm not familiar with your reader, but I assume that sorting by date is using the pubDate of the RSS item. This reflects when the image was rendered and not the date when the FOTD was published to the mailing list.
But when I try that, the top entry is "Filler Thriller" from April 21, 2009.
The RSS file only keeps around a maximum number of items, currently set at 250. So when you get the RSS feed for the first time you get the 250 most recently generated images as the contents of the feed. As the feed continues to be published, older images will fall off the feed to be replaced by newer images. Some RSS readers keep a permanent history of all items they have seen, even if they cease to be published in the current RSS feed.
This may be the last one generated? There is an option to sort by title. The date could be part of the title but that would cause the sort have the oldest at the top.
If you want the items from a particular month, each item is listed in a category for the month and year it was published to the mailing list. -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" -- DirectX 9 draft available for download <http://legalizeadulthood.wordpress.com/the-direct3d-graphics-pipeline/> Legalize Adulthood! <http://legalizeadulthood.wordpress.com>
