I sent this to the list awhile back but haven't seen it from the list yet. Did my address get blocked or something? Still seeking ideas about changing window size in SDL XFractint. Thanks. On 2/12/25 16:31, david wrote:
I use a 4K display. I have xfract, the non-SDL Linux version, it accepts the "-geometry 3840x2160" command line option to use the full screen and works fine.
XFractint SDL just reports an error and comes up in a little 920xsomething window. The window can't be resized.
I had also added an entry to the fractint.cfg file so I could manually select the 4K resolution.
When I start XFractint SDL and select that option, I sometimes get an error about "stack smashing detected" and the program doesn't start. And other times it simply returns to the existing window size with no changes.
I'm running Debian Bookworm on a Ryzen 9 9950X CPU, AMD GPU, 128GB of memory, 728GB of space available on a 2TB NVME drive.
Ideas?
