The appendages extending from the sides of its body seem like the external gills of this unusual animal: http://www.gceadvancelevel.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/35.jpg The color almost matches, too! Also in the same folder, 13_23800-01.GIF, appears like the spade symbol on playing cards the way Albrecht has cropped it.
