I forgot to include Raymond Fialiatreault's FintMap version of Sylvie Gallet's smooth color map that Albrecht used in his Mendel Miracle image. Raymond's color map editor shows the values of red, green and blue of all 256 Fractint color table locations in a graph: http://tinyurl.com/Mandel-Miracles-map-in-FintMap or: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/MFR_13/150111_Mandel_Miracle/Mandel -Miracles-color-map-in-FintMap.jpg His program can generate both straight lines and Sine waves in the graph to your specification -- for each color -- at the click of a button! Sylvie's choice of Sine wave amplitudes, phases and frequencies for the three colors looks simple, but I think they had to be artfully crafted to get the effect she achieved in this map. For reference, here's Fractint's color editor's version of her color map again: http://tinyurl.com/Sylvie-Gallets-smooth-colormap or: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Albrecht/MFR_13/150111_Mandel_Miracle/20000W 12map.jpg Raymond's FIntMap ver.1.4 is here: http://www.nahee.com/Software/+FIntMap/ It's the version I user to load Sylvie Gallet's color map into and screen capture its graph above. <JackOfTradeZ> said: "...is there a "hot" color (red, orange, yellow etc) version [of Sylvie's smooth color map]?" You could use the Sine wave model used in Sylvie's smooth color map as shown in my FintMap screen capture in FintMap above as a starting point and see what you can come up with...
