So my request to YOU , consider how fractint knowledge might be applied to
solving some of these problems .
If one believes what is published online, mental acuity is maintained or strengthened by exercising one's mental abilities -- and/or "stretching" them. I can think of no more pleasurable way to "exercise" than creating fractals with Fractint. There's a gradation of levels of challenge in using Fractint -- from: - using the built-in fractal types, - simply zooming in and out (and scrolling around) other people's fractals, (which I have done with Jim Muth's FoTD images), - using other people's formulas and varying their parameters, - varying other people's fractal formulas, - writing your own fractal formulas, and - "talking about" any of the above in a discussion list like this one. Somewhere in list above should also be: using the pretty good documentation supplied with Fractint (or even using the F1 key) to look into any features you've never previously used. I know I really enjoyed learning about and using Fractint's Explorer/Evolver feature. This can create many different thumbnail-sized images simultaneously that are variations of a given image. Perhaps I should take my own advice... - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## -----Original Message----- From: Fractint [mailto:fractint-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of sciwise@ihug.co.nz Sent: Thursday, March 3, 2016 11:16 PM To: Fractint and General Fractals Discussion <fractint@mailman.xmission.com> Subject: [Fractint] Slow down Quite a few of us have health concerns. Most likely you find that this interferes with a steady learning and creative endeavor. Why be informed and creative[?] ; because this is how we overcome the limitations that have always been imposed upon us . For most persons the harsh reality of our situation is something that's just beyond our comprehension and many shy away from even contemplating this whilst others over indulge in contemplating their mortality. I'm in both categories. So my request to YOU , consider how fractint knowledge might be applied to solving some of these problems.
