It already IS ahead of the others, can zoom deeper and higher iterations, more varied in fractal formulas.
When arbitrary precision was first introduced into fractint, it had that feature all to itself(*), but there are several programs that have that now. Frankly, the main competitor is UltraFractal and in terms of usability it blows fractint out of the water and it is comparable in terms of features. I mean, Jesus, there's a quote from Damien Jones touting the advantages of UltaFractal on their home page. That's gotta sting to anyone that's contributed to FractInt over the years. There was a time when fractint was ahead of other programs, including commercial ones like UltraFractal. Sadly, that time hasn't been around for a number of years. The competition is strong. Advertising is not the way to answer that competition, IMO. (*) I'm not even sure this is the case, but I'll just assert it baldly and leave it at that. -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" -- DirectX 9 draft available for download <http://www.xmission.com/~legalize/book/download/index.html> Legalize Adulthood! <http://blogs.xmission.com/legalize/>
