transferring multifractal to linux sounds like a good idea. You
avoid the DOS limitations
and the games windows plays with you, if you want to run a DOS
program.
The windows versions all lack high resolution, which is an
absolute must.
Please use the readable input instructions which Hal has
reawakened some days ago,
oct 22nd, second posting.They are a lot easier to understand.
Of course I´ll be of help too, although some meditating maybe
necessary to recall
the complete program structure. I was in some kind of trance
writing it and having
finished didn´t realize immediately what I had accomplished.
I´ll keep my fingers crossed.

Hmmm, IIRC, isn't there a command line
option that tells Fractint to use extended memory? IIRC, Windows
provides the standard extended memory API hooks to DOS programs,
so that might be enough for calculating a disk video image?
I wonder how the multi_fractal formula would fair under
XFractint (the Linux port of Fractint)? Or the Windows port of
Fractint - what was it called?
I use XFractint here, should see if the formula works there ...
