I have made a decision to stay more on topic. Starting today I will no longer post a copy of the FOTD to the philofractal list. Except for the FOTD, the philofractal list has been dead for years.
The topic of the Fractint list is fractals, not my ideas about God, science, or the paranormal. There are quite a few forums where these things are eagerly and properly discussed. And I'm not too sure of the importance of the daily weather report from central Pennsylvania, which can always be found on the internet. If the goofy fractal cats do anything exceptionally goofy, I'll tell about it however. (Yes, FL did have something to do with my decision to stick more to the topic.)
The Fractal world is diminished. I have followed Jim's FOTD for ever, or so it would seem. The antics of the old cats, as well as the newer felines, have been part of my every day... together with the newspaper comics. Each day I compared my local weather with that of Fractal Central, and was again reassured that mine was the better home... at least weatherwise. It was sad enough when Philofractal died a slow death, and we were left with a mere wisp of the excitement of the fantastic e-mail arguements of the early years, which I still save. This had to die, I guess, as every philosophical problem had been solved... again and again.. But it was fun. Personally, I grieved for the old cat, (Thomas)? Now I must, perforce imagine the younguns romping along corridors and over furniture. I even miss the floods of the old Fractal Central. FL had somrthing to do with this dire decision? In that case I wish her bad luck in the "antique" stores. :-) May she never encounter another "bargain"! Never discourage a writer or his readers will be up in arms, and Jim WAS a writer. Remember "The Gazebo"? Oh well, life sucks and then blows away. John W.
