I've been running XP Pro (and Fractint) since Mar 8, 2002 on a 788MHz Transmeta CPU on a Sony "PictureBook" PCG-C1MVP/M)

and had no problems in the short term.
 
Each time my FOTD failed, however, one of the periodic updates from Windows wouldfix it. (I get them automatically about 2x/week from MS).
