Hey Budweiser,

Sorry we didn't prompt an Entry from you, but you're absolutely right: that Benoit is jealous. And quite a beast as well.

Less than 15 minutes after your post this evening, I received an e-mail with a photographic attachment purporting to be from the eminent Dr. Mandelbrot himself.

The face was right, but I found it a bit odd that his hands were not evident in the photo. They were clasped behind his back, I presume, inside the somewhat under-filled arms of the suit he was apparently wearing.

And protruding from the fashionably double-vented jacket - were what appeared to be two tails - once again raising the issue of whether Muth really exists or not, and if so, whether he's really responsible for our daily FotD bread.

In fact . . . . . . . maybe the scam is all so obvious that the Dynamic Duo are knocking back a few Maragaritas and having a huge laugh at our expense even as we speak:
After all, if you think about it: Rene "Thom" for goodness' sake ?? -- as in "Tom"-cat ?????

Besides, Nostradamus predicted that an "eight-footed monster" would take over the world last Wednesday - or something like that. And if you add the digits of the verse in Revelations that refers to dietary restrictions on cat meat, you get 3.14159...........  - so how could it possibly be wrong?  . . ..  . ..  .Just a thought.

Now I'm starting to wonder - after all these years - whether even Mandelbrot exists. I saw Cats and Dogs too, but just blew it off. Surely those felines couldn't be responsible for Fractal Theory as well all of Geopolitics, Particle Physics, and "brane" theory, too, but . . . . . .

All that aside, I'm surprised no one has yet attempted a fractal portrait of The (alleged) Jim Muth, with or without tails. [I wonder of he has 6 fingers on any of his paw hands or feet . . . . . maybe some Maine Coon Cat blood snuck into Baltimore . . . . ]   ;-)
