If this is a ‘show your age’ competition, my mate made the fractals on his 286, and I had to write in assembler on my Atari to view them...nya nya.....

Is was great though, unlike today when any idiot can pretend to know how work a computer....if I had a time machine I would castrate BG’s dad...

Compuserve was my first online adventure when I got my 1st PC, a screamin-demon pentium-75 with an incredible 16 Meg RAM and a totally awesome 1 Gig HD, in 1995, complete with windows 3.11 (ouch!). I loved it, especially dialing in and hearing that wet-dream voice say "welcome to wincim"! I liked the graphics and programming forums and the chats; this is also where I got into fractals and fractint. After AOL took over and totally bastardized it (I always HATED AOL!) I quit; from then on I had my own ISP and server and didnt need it anymore anyway.
All good things come to an end, I have fond memories and nostalgia. RIP Compuserve!
