The monitor shuts off whatvever I do after the splash screen. The textwindow can be called by the cool switch and the monitor reawakens, but the image is gone. Translated Windows error message: "Fractint cannot be restored"
Hmmm, try disabling any Windows power management settings that might be turning the monitor off? Just in case Windows thinks that because *IT* isn't doing anything with the monitor, it should turn it off? You at least are able to get back to Windows. When I was trying Fractint under Windows, Windows and Fractint would fight over the display adaptor and freeze the machine.
