FOTD -- March 25, 2010 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is a near-Julia set of the valley leading to the period-3 bud on the northeast shore line of the (-Z)^(1.5)+C Mandeloid. The valley itself, or a tiny blown-up part of it, is visible as the fuzzy, light blue, gently curved wedge in the background. The image rates a 6 because of the curious things going on with the 3-armed spirals in he upper part of the image. The name "Window of Opportunity" must have had a reason behind it, but if so, I have long since forgotten it. The calculation time of 4-2/3 minutes is rather slow. The slowness may be bypassed entirely by tripping out to the FOTD web site at: <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> and viewing the finished image there. Lots of sun and a pleasant temperature of 63F 17C made Wednesday feel like spring here at Fractal Central. The fractal cats, not worried about outside air temperature, spent most of the after- noon on their sunny window shelf. My day was busy, but much better than Tuesday. The next FOTD is due in 24 hours. I'll give an 87-1/2-percent chance that it will make it. Until next time, take care, and rational skeptics fear that the world we observe with our five senses (the physical universe) might be but an infinitesimal part of the totality of existence.
