FOTD -- February 29, 2008 (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

My Mindspring address is having technical difficulties -- it
delivers e-mail but will not accept e-mail -- so I'm sending the
FOTD's through AOL until Earthlink gets the problem fixed (if
ever). The philofractal postings are missing because the
philofractal list apparently does not accept messages in AOL
format.

Today's image is an effort to get something from nothing. The
nothing is a Mandeloid with an exponent of 99.2. The something
is a fractal that resembles nothing as much as an alien
landscape.

Actual aliens might be hiding somewhere in the scene, which is
the reason for the name "Aliens Somewhere". But if they are, I
have yet to find a sign of them.

Since I found the image with so little effort, I could not give
it an honest rating. The calculation time of 4-1/2 minutes is
reasonably short. And the finished image is or soon will be
posted on the FOTD web site at:

Clouds and biting winds, with a temperature of 21F -6C made
Thursday rather unpleasant here at Fractal Central. The cats
agreed as they snuggled closer to the heat. My day was quite
busy. The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours. Until then, take
care, and live laughingly.
