FOTD -- August 13, 2013 (Rating A-8,M-7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: With an artistic rating of an 8 and a math rating of a 7, today's image is quite an improvement over yesterday's. The name "Sublimity For All" might be an exaggeration, but it is what came to mind when I shut down my thinking processes. The actual scene lies in the wedge-shaped East Valley of the large minibrot on the fractalized main stem of the (-Z)^(2.003)+C Mandeloid. This is the exact area where the strange rectangle lies in the Julia sets of the (+Z)^(2.003)+(C) Mandeloid. The image has no rectangles in it, but it certainly does have lots of fractal goodies. As an additional bonus, the image calculates in 1-2/3 minutes, not the fastest image of all time, but still fast enough to take the drudgery from the calculation. Total calculation relief is available at the following web sites: <http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html> <http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html> <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> <http://user.xmission.com/~legalize/fractals/fotd/about.html> where the finished image is or soon will be posted. The day here at Fractal Central began with rain, but the rain ended by 9am and the clouds broke by noon, leading to a mostly sunny afternoon with a temperature of 84F 29C. The remaining fractal cat Nicholas, (Nico for short), had a lazy day sleeping on the shelf behind the TV, a pleasant way for a cat to spend a day, but quite boring for humans who want action. The humans were also annoyed by a balky computer. The next FOTD will be posted ultimately. Until that uncertain time arrives, take care, and on a recent TV show about the quirks of the human brain, the word 'brain' was mentioned over two-hundred times, and the word 'mind', not even once. I suspect that a group of skeptical materialists was behind the show, spreading their belief that we are nothing more than the activity of the material of our brains. (The idea is scientific enough, but I would like to see a rational, step-by-step demonstration of the transition from activity in the material world of neurons to ideas in the immaterial world of conscious thought.)
