I don't really know anything about international keyboards, but I saw this on the rufus website, maybe this will give you a clue: Notes on DOS support: If you create a DOS bootable drive and use a non-US keyboard, Rufus will attempt to select a keyboard layout according to the locale of your system. In that case, FreeDOS <http://www.freedos.org/>, which is the default selection, is recommended over MS-DOS, as it supports more keyboard layouts. Second request: The usbstick generated with Rufus boots ok, but the Western European Keyboard layout does not include the TILDE (~) and Backslash (\) keys, which can be called using the ascii code, 126 and 92 but you must have a numpad to do so.
