Unfortunately, mathematics seems to have hijacked much, if not most, of theoretical physics and cosmology. For example, we have the purely mathematical idea of black holes being nonsensically given physical existence!

And I challenge the reader to go out and point vis arm at any mathematical
entity, whether it be a fourth dimension, a Mandelbrot set, or the number
two (and don't get confused and just point at pictures of them).
