Polynomial Roots

I don't understand this completely, but it sure makes a nice image! (The image it links to, http://jdc.math.uwo.ca/roots/polynomial_roots.png , is 90 MB as a png file but over 1 GB as a .tif file, be warned... it's 16263 x 23000 pixels in size!) Is there any way that this calculation, and zooms of it, could be rendered in Fractint?

FOTD -- January 31, 2012 (Rating 8) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: The oversized parent Mandelbrot set of today's scene has been corrupted by Z^23 energies. On the surface, the corruption barely shows, but only one zoom into the depths will show that, in its depths, the parent is anything but a typical Mandelbrot set. Today's image lies in a minibrot on the prominent filament extending northwest from the large period-2 but of the parent near-Mandelbrot set. This minibrot is morphed about halfway between a Z^2 and a Z^23 one, with lots of interesting nooks and crannies to investigate. Today's scene is located in the area of what once was the northwest shore line of the main bay. I frequently mention directions when writing about minibrots in the FOTD discussions. When I do this, I consider the minibrot to be lying in the 'normal' orientation of the classic Mandelbrot set, with the main spike pointing west and Elephant Valley on the east side of the heart-shaped main bay. North is then up, and south is down. We really could use a good atlas of the Mandelbrot set, describing and naming all the valleys and buds, etc. Several probably are on the internet, though I have never made a search. I named the image "A Very Common Object" because objects like the one in today's image are almost universal in corrupted parent fractals such as today's. This of course assumes that the things appearing in fractal images are actually objects at all. The rating of an 8 seems appropriate for a rather nice illustration of such a common object. FOTD -- January 30, 2012 (Rating 7.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image lies in an oversized Mandelbrot set that has been corrupted in its depths by Z^15 energies. The exact location is on the northeast shore line of the first significant minibrot out the main stem of the parent Mandeloid. This minibrot is well on the way of morphing into a Z^15 one. I named the image "Nest of Iterations" because for a moment it reminded me of a bird's nest. The rating of a 7-1/2 is just far enough above average to make the calculation time of 2-3/4 minutes worth the wait. FOTD -- January 29, 2012 (Rating 8) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: The parent Mandeloid of today's image is an oversized Mandelbrot set infected in its depths by a Z^5 virus. Today's image is an almost-Julia set of a bit of left-over debris in the center of the parent's main bay. I call the image an 'almost' Julia set because the slice is double-rotated 0.2,0.2 degrees from the true Julia orientation. This slight departure from the true Julia direction preserves the irregular distribution seen in the Mandelbrot aspect of the left-over debris that fills the flattened oval outer shape. The image reminds me of nothing quite as much as a view of a rich star field as seen through a wide-field telescope. The name "Fractal Nebula" points to this similarity. The rating of an 8 could be a bit liberal coming from a person like myself, who tends to the conservative side, even while supporting some rather progressive ideas. FOTD -- January 28, 2012 (Rating 7.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: ANOTHER NEW FORMULA! THE 'SliceJulibrot6' FORMULA HAS BEEN RENAMED! I have renamed the 'SliceJulibrot6' formula 'JulibrotMulti'. I did this because it was pointed out that I previously wrote a formula named 'SliceJulibrot6'. I never did much with that old formula, but it might still be floating around, so to avoid confusion I have renamed the new formula. Today's image is an almost-Julia set of the eastern edge of the large minibrot on the main stem of its parent Mandelbrot set, which is infected with Z^5 energies in its depths. I call it an 'almost' Julia set because it is double rotated 1-1/2,1-1/2 degrees from the true Julia orientation. In images this close to the Julia orientation, a small rotation makes a big difference. The difference in today's image is the totally chaotic arrangement of filaments, which inspired the name "Hither and Yon", (come and go). Another difference is the existence of the two small near-perfect Z^5 minibrots, a rarity this close to the Julia orientation. The rating of a 7-1/2 implies that I felt some disappointment in the artistic aspect of the image, but also that it holds enough math interest to earn it FOTD status. The calculation time of a hyperfast 8 seconds will leave no chance for impatience to raise its jittery head. I laugth again at my bad english, i whanted to said pray Z, but it change to prey Z. Anyway it still make sense, prey or pray Z, turn out from my traditional bean to become a shell form. Mathematic and nature are probably balancing out from a structure of this kind somewhere.
