FOTD -- September 20, 2012 (Rating 6)
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
This FOTD is posted a second time because the original posting
included the wrong formula in the parameter section. Please
delete the first posting.
We have another rush in progress here at Fractal Central today.
And when time is lacking, the quality and accuracy sometimes
suffers.
The name of today's image, "Busy Busier Busiest", explains the
lowly rating of a modest 6 points. The image las a lot of
color action, that's for sure, but like so many current movies,
it has too much action and not enough plot. Even the addition
of the 'tdis' rendering fails to bring life to the moribund
image.
The only thing worth noting in the image is the central
minibrot, shaped suspiciously like a peanut. The formula behind
the scene is Z^(1.7)+C, which I iterated 69 levels up the
hyperladder with the 'ident' function applied. This mixture
creates a parent fractal that somehow reminds me of a mermaid.
A very prominent cut-off minibrot lies south of the main body,
with today's image located in a valley of this minibrot.
The too-long calculation time of 7 minutes merely adds to the
disappointment. But at least with this time aspect, relief may
be found on the FOTD web sites.

After the early morning fog cleared off here at Fractal Central
today, the rest of the day was near ideal, with mostly sunny
skies and a temperature of 70F 21C. The fractal cats enjoyed
the outside conditions from the inside, but when an unwanted cat
wandered by, the dynamic duo leaped to the window and growled
their warnings at the intruder.
Except for a slightly heated lunch time exchange of opinions
about politics and culture, the humans had a quiet day. The
next FOTD will be posted in due time. Until whenever, take
care, and if only one of the thousands of claims about alien
abduction is true, then aliens from space actually are visiting
earth.
