I just can NOT get my sstools to behave as I want it to, in spite of your advice. I wonder if anyone could point out where I'm going astray? Failed trials are disabled by ";". Fractint runs like the proverbial bat out of —, but the files are saved into my "Fractl" directory. map=maps\default.map ;savename=gif001 ; savename=c:\fractl\fractint\gif\nick001 ; filename=c:\fractl\Fractint\GIF_s\ ; gifdir=c:\fractl\fractint\gif_s ; gifdir=c:\fractl\fractint\*.gif ifsfile=ifs\fractint.ifs parmfile=pars\fractint.par lfile=lsystem\fractint.l formulafile=formulas\fractint.frm ; SAVENAME=c:\Fractl\FractInt\GIF_s\fract001.gif ; OVERWRITE=no autokeyname=key\auto.key

I'm tired of having all my GIF's tumble into my FRACTINT folder along with all the other files. I have not, however, found the instructions used in SSTOOLS for auto saving rendered GIF's into a GIF folder. Help, please? Thank you, John W.

There is a download for DOSBox for Windows 10, I have not tested Fractint in that version yet. Has anyone in the group?

Since Microsoft is pretty much forcing us to 'upgrade' to Windows 10, does anyone know if DOSBox works in Windows 10 in order to run fractint? Nick

I had the same experience as Tim, exactly... "First, the answer is that DOSBox and Fractint run fine under Windows 10. This is the same DOSBox I had been using under Windows 8.1 (DOSBox svn 0.74). I haven't yet installed the latest Win 10 DOSBox". It also installs in a Chromebook HOWEVER, there's a problem with that one. The Chromebook keyboard is missing a couple of keys used by Fractint. and the upper row of keys must be reset to Function keys. Head scratching helps. John W.

This item uses yesterday´s image again and the algorithm is similar but there is an important update: After some meditation - of course the fractal rhythm is extremely sophisticated - I found a possibility to improve the musical flow and add better melodical elements. The problem is that the midi capacity has reached it´s maximum. The fractal rhythm consists of 300 elements, 30 for each voice and even a time error of 1/16 triplet means complete failure, so I recommend to use only the mp3 download, it sounds better anyway. To the title: If you ever have spent a vacation on the most beautiful mediterranean island and listened to the the gentle waves rolling over the white sand you know wgat I had in mind.
