Poets Tyler Goldman and Sean Daviswill present their work on March 7th atthe Salt Lake City Public Library at 7:00 P.M. as part of the City Art ReadingSeries. Tyler Goldman’s poems andtranslations have appeared or are forthcoming in The Virginia QuarterlyReview, Poetry International, Poetry Northwest, TheColorado Review, Blackbird, and elsewhere. He has receivedscholarships and awards from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Academy ofAmerican Poets, the University of Maryland, and the University of Utah, wherehe is currently a doctoral student in English Literature and Creative Writing. SeanDavis is the author of The Wax Bullet War, a Purple Heart Iraq Warveteran, and the winner of the Legionnaire of the Year Award from the AmericanLegion in 2015, and the recipient of the Emily Gottfried Emerging Leader, HumanRights award for 2016. His stories, essays, and articles have appeared inthe the Ted Talk Book TheMisfit’s Manifesto (Simon andSchuster), Forest Avenue Press anthology City of Weird, Sixty Minutes, The Big Smoke: America, Human the movie, and much more. His book, World onFire: The History of Wildland Firefighting is coming out this summer from theHistory Press. He currently lives in the Cascade Mountains in Central Oregonwith his wife, his daughter, his dog Bullet, and their chickens CityArt is longest running literary arts series in Salt Lake. We present authors ofall genres as well as artists and musicians on the first three Wednesdays ofeach month at the Main Public Library from September to May. We feature bothlocal as well as nationally and internationally acclaimed writers. Mostfeatured readings are followed by an open reading. City Art is sponsored by theUtah Arts Council, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Catalyst, the Salt Lake City Public Library, Xmission, and the Zoo,Arts, and Park Fund.
