City Art Presents Wade Bentley and Joey Franklin

            Writers Wade Bentley and Joey Franklin will read and perform their work  on December 11th at the Salt Lake City Public Library at 7:00 P.M. as part of the City Art Reading Series. 

             Wade Bentley teaches writing at Salt Lake Community College.  He has four children and four grandsons.  He enjoys hiking, writing, and playing with the aforementioned grandsons.  His poems have been published or will soon appear in Green Mountains Review, Cimarron Review, Best New Poets, New Ohio Review, Western Humanities Review, Rattle, Subtropics, Oberon, ARDOR, drafthorse, Clapboard House, and Chicago Quarterly Review, among others.  His chapbook of poems, Askew, was recently published by Red Ochre Press.
 
            Joey Franklin is an assistant professor of English and Creative Writing at Brigham Young University. His personal essays have appeared in Gettysburg Review, Florida Review, The Pinch, and other journals. His essay,"How to be a T-Ball Parent," won the 2011 Sport Literate Essay contest, and his first published essay, "Working at Wendy's," was recently anthologized in the 13th edition of the Norton Nonfiction Reader.
 
Most featured readings are followed by an open reading. City Art is sponsored by the Utah Arts Council, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Catalyst, the Salt Lake City Public Library, Xmission, and the Zoo, Arts, and Park Fund.
