Writers Rachel Marston and Iris Moulton will read from their poems at the Salt Lake Public Library Main Branch on Wednesday February 4th at 7:00. Rachel Marston is working on her PhD in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Utah. Her short fiction won first place in the Utah Original Writing Contest in 2004. She has worked as fiction editor and editor for Quarterly West. She has fiction published in the Massachusetts Review, Barrelhouse, and Versal. Iris Moulton began writing stories and poems before she could read or form words on paper, and wrote her first poem beneath a forsythia bush. Her first book of poetry, where the echoes go, was published on PUSH! Publications in 2005. Her influences include Richard Siken, Sylvia Plath, birds, and Frida Kahlo. She was educated at the University of Utah, and graduated with a BA in English and a BA in Anthropology. She is currently applying to MFA programs around the country, and just returned from the Crate Lung Co-Op Tour of the southwestern United States. The event is free and open to the public.
