Writers Jerry VanIeperen and Wendy Blankenship will read from their work on March 21st at the Salt Lake City Public Library at 7:00 P.M. as part of the City Art Reading Series. Jerry VanIeperen lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and is one of the founders/editors of the Sugar House Review and formerly worked as an editor for Petrogylph. He is a winner of Utah State University's creative writing contest and recently earned an MFA from the University of Nebraska. His poems have appeared in Black Rock & Sage, Bring the Ink, Scribendi, and The City Art Journal. Blankenship is a graduate of CEU and teaches eighth grade reading and English in Salt Lake at Riverwood Middle School. She received her bachelor's of science degree in English from Southern Utah University and is working on her master's of fine arts in creative writing through Nairopa University in Boulder, Colo. She has been a Utah, "Wilderness Leader" taking young people on remote backpacks, teaching them writing. She has published in several literary magazines including Bed and Myriad. Most featured readings are followed by an open reading.
