Poet Geraldine Connolly will read from her work on November 4that the Salt Lake City Public Library at 7:00 P.M. as part of the City Art Reading Series. Geraldine Connolly was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She is the author of two poetry collections, Food for the Winter (Purdue) and Province of Fire (Iris Press), as well as a chapbook, The Red Room (Heatherstone Press). Her work has appeared in Poetry, The Georgia Review and Shenandoah. She has won two NEA fellowships in Creative Writing and the Yeats Society of New York Poetry Prize. Her poems have been included in many anthologies including Poetry 180: A Poem A Day for American High School Students and Sweeping Beauty: Poems About Housework. One of her poems has been broadcast on Garrison Keillor’s The Writers Almanac. She teaches each spring at the University of Arizona Poetry Center in Tucson. She divides her time between Montana and Arizona. The event is free and open to the public. City Art is sponsored by the Utah Arts Council, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Zoo, Arts, and Parks, XMission, and audience donations. The featured reading will be followed by an open reading.
