Poets Geoffrey Babbit and Steven Dallas Stradley will read from their poems at the Salt Lake Public Library Main Branch on Wednesday March 4th at 7:00. Geoffrey Babbitt is currently a Ph.D. student in poetry at the University of Utah, where he has recently been a bridesmaid in the Utah Writer’s Contest, Utah Arts Council Writer's Contest in poetry, and the Larry Levis Prize. His writing has appeared or is forthcoming in DIAGRAM, Free Verse, CutBank, Interim, Colorado Review, Shampoo, Western Humanities Review and elsewhere. His dog is named after an Elliott Smith song." Steven Stradley’s book Beyond October was published with Black Rock Press in 2003. Of his work, Trever Southy said, “In Stradley s work there is never concealment, but a powerful, almost confessional, invitation to partake.” The event is free and open to the public.
