Writers A.J. Martine and Anikó Sáfránwill read from his works at the Salt Lake
Public Library Main Branch on Wednesday December 8th at 7:00.
A.J. is a western born man raised on a ranch on the Colorado Plateau by human
wolves. He was nurtured by that landscape which has become a major character in
his writing, his counselor, solace, and goad. A.J. was born and raised in the
twentieth century, mentored by his grandfather who refused to leave the
nineteenth, and writes about it from a twenty-first century perspective. He has
Published non-fiction, poetry, and fiction in several magazines and journals
such as the Idaho Review, Wazee Journal, Circa, Rocky Mountain Review, Salt Lake
Magazine, Catalyst, and Glimmer Train. A.J. is the current chair of Writers @
Work.
Anikó Sáfrán is a Salt lake City poet, photographer and film maker. She has
read recently as part of the free jazz ensemble Seraphim.
The event is free and open to the public. City Art is sponsored by the Utah
Arts Council, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Zoo, Arts, and Parks, X-Mission,
and audience donations. The featured reading will be followed by an open
reading.
