To better serve our growing customer base, XMission will migrate all customers from our current UTOPIA router to two new routers throughout the month of October, 2021. These migrations will occur at scheduled times in the early morning hours. We will inform you of the exact date and time of your city's migration in an email sent within two days of the move. Note that most customers will not need to do anything and will not even notice the migration took place overnight.
When the migration begins, XMission will provide regular updates on Twitter at @xmissionstatus (LINK). Please follow us for the latest information on this migration and other XMission systems news. You can also find regular updates on status.xmission.com (LINK).
XMission does not anticipate significant customer downtime from this migration. However, in the event of an unexpected outage, XMission will ask you to power cycle your router. Power cycling means unplugging the power cable of your home wifi router, waiting approximately 30 seconds, and then plugging the power cable back in and allowing your router to start up as it usually does. We anticipate that this will fix most of the issues that customers might encounter.
Please do not touch your UTOPIA Access Portal or any buttons on your router.
XMission will migrate customers to the new routers in batches, with all customers in the same city moved in a single batch.
This important migration will greatly improve XMission's network redundancy, meaning that you and other UTOPIA customers will experience fewer outages in the future.
