What does RDA look like where the rubber meets the road?
Here at Backstage, we usually look at your bibliographic and authority records from an analytical perspective. We rarely see the details of how you and your patrons interact with the catalog once we've finished tinkering with the headings. It's the difference between a designer looking at a car in a wind tunnel and a driver taking it out on the road. We need a little feedback from our road testers. The Library of Congress flipped the switch on RDA eight months ago. We'd like to find out how RDA is affecting library catalogs in day-to-day use, so we can identify ways to better serve your needs. To that end, we've put together a short survey. Here's the link: www.surveymonkey.com/s/5X8C28J There are 18 questions, most of which are multiple-choice. We've included an optional comments box on many of the questions, in case our response selections don't quite fit your experience. In a not-too-scientific test, we clocked the survey at about 8 minutes. We'll share the aggregated data from the survey with you, our participants. We hope you'll find it useful. In any report that goes out, your individual answers will not be identifiable or tied to your name or institution. And we won't share your contact information with any outside parties. We appreciate your continued business and your assistance in making our services a better fit for your library. Thanks. Yours, Richard Richard Covington Backstage Library Works | Provo, Utah & Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 801.356.1852 | rcovington@bslw.com | www.bslw.com
