One of our clients let me know off-list that the OCLC MARC Format Service is essentially the same thing as the LC MARC Format policies, which we already follow very closely. We continually seek to remain current
with RDA enrichment policies & recommendations as well as other MARC21/AACR2 standards, so for any other clients out there that may be wondering about conflicts between our service and OCLC’s service—there should not be any.

Subject: [BSLWAC] Backstage - OCLC MARC Format Update - Conflicts?
http://oclc.org/support/services/worldcat/documentation/tb/264.en.html
We have a prospective client that is considering the base file processing but is unsure whether the OCLC MARC Format Update conflicts with any of our processing. Unfortunately, we are not aware of clients that also may be using OCLC’s format
update service, so we wanted to reach out to all of you to see if you are using the service and if there are any conflicts we should be aware of.
We appreciate any feedback you may have to share with either the listserv or off-list about this.
