Hi,
We are on Horizon 7.3.4 and recently completed an import of new
authorities (subject, author, series...separately) and new bib records
after Backstage performed their magic on all the records. I have
discovered that we now have a tremendous amount of blind authorities and
beginning the process of deleting them when I discovered something. The
new authorities loaded from Backstage were imported with "multiple use"
coding instead of "single use" in the 008 field. From what I can tell
quite a lot of the new authorities with the "multiple use" coding did
not overlay the single use coding we started with. This means that if I
delete all the blind authorities I will delete a lot of the new records
from Backstage.
If anyone has had experience with this or has any suggestions, I would
be grateful. I do have a call into SirsiDynix as well. Just thought I
would cover all my bases!
