Healutah-alerts -- nuclear and toxic waste alerts

About Healutah-alerts
English (USA)

HEAL Utah is an alliance of citizens and organizations working together to protect public health from nuclear and toxic waste.

Utah's West Desert has become one of the largest environmental sacrifice zones in the country. We house the largest emitter of toxins in the country, one of the largest air polluters in the country, half of our nation's stockpile of chemical weapons, two chemical weapons incinerators, a radioactive waste landfill, hazardous waste landfill, proving ground for biological and chemical warfare agents, a massive bombing range, and an Army depot with a large underground plume of carcinogenic water.

Deserts, though far away and sparsely populated, are not exempt from the ecological dynamics of Nature. Eventually, as Native American religions tell us, we are all downwind and downstream from one another. Furthermore, toxic and radioactive wastes have to share the highways we all use, in order to get to their distant hiding places.
