Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's image is named "Sixteen Candles", and it is not hard to
see why. The sixteen brilliantly colored basins surrounding the
central minibrot certainly do stand out like candles in a dimly
lit room.
The parent fractal involves Mandeloids of orders 2 and minus-3.
I'll not try to describe the parent fractal this combination
produces, but it's certainly worth a quick look.
After a moment's consideration, I rated today's image at a
rather impressive 8, not too bad for an image created during a
half-hour work break. But I must admit that most of the
coloring was created not by me, but by a stroke of the <enter>
key.
The calculation time of just under 2 minutes will pass like a
flash in the dark. To avoid all risk of impatience, the

Periods of brilliant sun alternated with heavy clouds and sharp
showers here at Fractal Central on Thursday. Just before sunset
a rainbow appeared in a passing shower, ending the day with a
burst of splendor. The fractal cats, who do not enjoy showers
and rainbows, thought the temperature of 46F 8C was too chilly
for comfort and spent most of the day near the hallway radiator.
My day was spent working at the FC computer, which is positioned
with a window to the side, allowing a view of the outside condi-
tions with a glance to the left. Unless something unexpected
