I'm finally writing JJ'Perrey's bio, and it's going really well. Over the
last 5 years (since the end of the magazine), I've been busy with recording
CDs with JJ,concerts, etc. But 2009 is the perfect year to do this book
project.
Here's where I need your advice. I'm hoping to find some cheerful volunteer
to spend some time over at the AFM Local 802, and dig through their files.
What I really need for my book research is xeroxes of any AFM contracts,
that might show up info about Perrey & Kingsley recording sessions.
This would shed light on who the musicians were, on the dates, and the
actual dates of the sessions. I've only found one of these contacts in JJ's
files, and that one contract showed that they recorded at least one
unreleased tune at that time. There are probably MORE!
Since this is a 'labor of love', there isn't any money to be thrown around.
I've already determined that this book project is technically a
'money-losing' project. But maybe there's someone in the NY area who'd be
willing to help out in this way? I could certainly reimburse for copying
costs, postage, etc.
I get the digest version of the Exotica mailing list, but for some reason, I
can't post any messages there, or I'd send this there, myself.
