Poets
Shira Dentz and Stacy Kidd will read from their work on October 21stat
the Salt Lake City Public Library at 7:00 P.M. in the third floor conference
room.

Shira Dentz's book, door of thin skins, is forthcoming from
CavanKerry Press, and her book, black seeds on a white dish, is forthcoming
from Shearsman Books. Her chapbook, Leaf Weather, was recently published by
Tilt Press. Her poems appear in many journals including The
American Poetry Review, The Iowa Review,
American Letters & Commentary, Field, Western Humanities Review, and
jubilat, and have been featured on Poetry Daily, and NPR.
She is the recipient of an Academy of American Poets'
Prize,The Poetry Society of America's Lyric Poem
Award and Cecil Hemley Memorial Award, Electronic Poetry Review's Discovery
Award, and Painted Bride Quarterly's Poetry Prize. She is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop and currently is a doctoral
candidate at the University of Utah. Before
leaving for Iowa and Salt
Lake City, she worked for many years as a graphic artist designing music
ads in New York City, and taught English in an inner city public high school.

Stacy Kiddis in the PhD Program in Creative
Writing at the U of Utah and Poetry Editor for Quarterly West. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Columbia: A Journal of Literature and Art,
Fugue, Spoon River Poetry Review and WITNESS.

The event is free and open to the public. City Art is sponsored by the Utah Arts
Council, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Zoo, Arts, and Parks, XMission, and
audience donations. The featured
reading will be followed by an open reading.
