I am compling a mailing for The Jedediah Smith Society "Rendezvous 2009, Tracing Jed's last days". It will be held in Ulysses, Kansas, October 23 - 24, 2009. The JSS has not held an event in this area before, where Jedediah was last seen alive. If anyone on the list is interested in the registration material please contact me, and I will see that you are included for the mailing. The rendezvous will consist of a Meet & Greet reception Friday, Oct. 23. A bus tour Saturday, Oct. 24th, will follow the Cimarron Route of the Santa Fe wagon road from the Middle Crossing of the Arkansas River, following the trail with stops at various trail sites along this portion of the Cimarron Route, and conclude at the Lower Cimarron Springs near Ulysses. The evening of the Saturday, Oct. 24th, a banquet and programs about Jedediah Smith and the Santa Fe Trail will be presented. The event should be fun and informative.
