FOTD -- June 27, 2009 (Rating 6)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image shows an unfamiliar aspect of Seahorse Valley. In
the image, the valley complex is viewed in a direction very
close to the Oblate. In fact, it is sliced in a direction
rotated only 0.5 degree toward the Parabolic direction.

This slight rotation means that the lower half of the image
skims the chaotic east (main bay) side of the valley, while the
upper half shows the more organized detail on the west side.

As is the case all over the valley complex and in all orienta-
tions, those little peanut-hole things are everywhere, though
with such a high maxiter they are filled in. The curious loops
turn into attractive spirals when viewed in the Julia direction.

The rating of a 6 seems about right for an image with more
mathematical interest than artistic worth.

The calculation time of 12-1/2 minutes is slow, but the finished
image may be seen on the FOTD web site at:

<http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html>

Heat, haze and humidity prevailed here at new Fractal Central on
Friday, with a temperature of 88F 31C and a slight thunder-
shower late in the afternoon. The fractal cats enjoyed things
as much as they could.

The next FOTD will be posted within 24 hours. Until whenever,
take care, and get green for all it's worth.
