Utah Heritage Foundation

Barn Party

at the Depot

Folks are givin’ us a holler to let us know they’ll be coming to Utah Heritage Foundation’s annual Barn Party on Friday, September 26, 2008 at Salt Lake City’s Union Pacific Depot. It sure is fun to hear from all you friendly people and we look forward to seeing you and having a real good time on the 26th. We are grateful to Big-D Construction and O.C. Tanner Company for their major sponsorship of the event.

If you haven’t already done so, be sure to RSVP soon to reserve your spot at our party to raise money for historic preservation projects and education in Utah. Everybody’s welcome – if you didn’t get an invitation in the mail, just click right <http://www.utahheritagefoundation.com/tours-and-events/barnparty> here to let us know you’re coming.

Besides lip-smackin’ Western cooking, we’ll have toe-tappin’ music by the Slickrock Gypsies as well as Maggie Beers and Julie Mark. You’ll want to shop ‘til you drop at our silent auction full of Utah antiques and new stuff such as Navajo turquoise jewelry, Western wear, 19th-century books and maps, Western-theme kitchenware, horseback riding lessons, an “O” gauge model train set, and even a genuine vintage Hotel Utah room key! We’ll offer gourmet baskets filled with Utah-made Rockhill Creamery cheese; the expert services of Abstract Masonry Restoration; and the masterfully handcrafted hammers and hatchets of Michael Begue. And be sure to look for one of our signature items: the Rice Krispy beehive!

Bidding during the live auction will no doubt be intense for such opportunities as a <http://www.designbuildbluff.org/> DesignBuildBLUFF tour for six, a Dutch-oven dinner for 20, lodging in Napa Valley, the whiskey wheelbarrow, and an Ogden ghost tour. We know that you’ll want to get together with this fun crowd again by signing up for a Salt Lake historic architecture tour guided by none other than UHF Executive Director Kirk Huffaker.

Make Barn Party your next fun stop, Friday evening, September 26 from 6:30-10:00 p.m. at the Union Pacific Depot in Salt Lake. Tickets to this definitely different fundraiser are $125/person, or you can round up all your friends and sponsor a table for eight at $1500. Give us a call at 801-533-0858, ext. 107, send us your RSVP card, or sign up online. Proceeds benefit Utah Heritage Foundation’s many projects to preserve Utah landmarks. And we all benefit from the socializing and bonding of a good party.

See you there!
