Hi Vicki!
I'm afraid the market controls what I can get per bar of soap. Right now I'm
selling a 4 1/2 oz bar for $5 to $6 depending on what kind of EO's are in
it. I make labels on the computer in Publisher using Avery 5160 labels.
Sometimes I cut strips of scrap booking paper (2x8 strips) and wrap in that
and then put the label on it. Now I'm getting lazier and I use cello bags
called "lip and tape" that I put the bar in, seal it with the "tape" side of
the bag and put a label on it.....you can get lip-n-tape bags at
cellobagit.com...
Hope this helps,
Take care,
Claire in Shelton, WA

Do any of you in the group sell your hand made soap bars? I have given
several people samples of my soap,
and now each one is wanting to purchase it from me. If you sell, how do you
go about it, do you sell by a
particluar amount per ounce? I use only high quality, cold pressed
vegetable oils, no shortening, and I include
some very expensive oils in the batch. A batch costs me right at $18.00 to
make and produces 30 bars of
soap about 4 ounces each. Also, I use some essential oils, and some
Fragrance oils. I know the essential
oils are much more costly than the fragrance oils, so all that has to come
into pricing.

What do you do for packaging as well?

Thanks for any help you can give me with this. Have a great day!
Vicki
