Time-poor we are - or at least I am!

Heavens, no - don't push away your faves, your roots (*even* if they
involve Rush :-), or your past.
I was into Motown, bubblegum, The Monkees (for Heaven's sake!!), heavy
metal, disco, prog/artrock, glam, punk, all kinds of electronic stuff
and every kind of weirdo-experimental on and on...I have learned to
reclaim, live with, and recognize my disparate roots as shaping my
current ears, and I can see the value in all of it.
After a certain age, one (hopefully) recognizes the fad/elitist nature
of trends and rejects that, while treasuring the richness of one's
musical heritage.
