URGENT - SAMSUNG FIRMWARE UPGRADE










Team,

We just have received notification from Samsung regarding a firmware upgrade
that is needed to address a problem with some new model Samsung TV's. Here
is an overview of the situation:

* Three models, but only two purchased by Circuit City: SAM
LN46A650 and SAM LN52A650

* Symptom - TV turns itself off. In some instances, it may turn
itself back on again.

* Not all the TV's will exhibit the failure.

* Fix is a firmware upgrade through the remote. This can be
accomplished via the following methods:

* E-Mail from Samsung

* USB Memory Drive

* The Samsung Website will contain the upgrade. Samsung is
working on that now.

* Customers are easily able to do the upgrade themselves.
Customers complaining of the symptom should be encouraged to call
1-800-SAMSUNG where Samsung will assist customers by either sending them an
E-Mail containing the upgrade or mail them the Memory Drive.

* The problem has now been caught at the Samsung factories, and new
TV's have been upgraded. Future units that have been re-worked will contain
a green sticker advising the upgrade has been completed.


Attached below is the procedure for executing the fix. More information
will be forthcoming as we receive it.
