I don't use those tools but the topic is a good one. I am listing here the
tools that I use on a regular basis (I am PC based):
Daily Graphs Online (DGO), indespensible. If I had an extra $30K per year I
would use WONDA, O'Neil's professional investment grade tool.
DGO Custom Screens, Okay, it would be possible to live without it; it saves
time.
Investor's Business Daily, indespensible but I don't read more than 25% of
it.
www.investors.com Market Wrap video that comes out about three hours after
the close. This is a good way to spend 10 minutes at the end of the day. You
learn things like IBD moving the threshold for a follow-through day from
1.7% to the bear market threshold of 2%. Sometimes they mention something I
missed.
eSignal, indespensible, this is the focus of my day when the market is live.
This is my real-time feed and stock charting package. It allows setting high
and low alarms on hundreds of stocks on my various watchlists and
portfolios.
Scottrade, so so, if it weren't so hard to shift brokers I would. Their
reliabiltiy is subpar.
www.morninstar.com, good to find out what funds are owning stocks on your
watchlist. I use it to confirm institutional sponsorship and track what good
pickers like Ken Heebner are buying in CGMFX
www.decisionmoose.com, good weekly general market analysis. Bill Dirlam is a
talented experinced investor. He just updated his site within the last hour
as he always does on Sunday. He moves you up to view the market from a
higher altitude.
www.stratinv.net, Fred Richards fee site. Good for general market
understanding and some deep insight. Also good to see what he is buying,
selling and shorting day to day.
