Mr. Scott
A sailor knot, as used on neckerchiefs, is nothing more than a square knot.
It is hard to describe how to tie it using this keyboard. Experiment tying
a square knot to get the smooth portion of the knot facing forward/outward.
Maybe some on this board can explain better.
I took Larpenteur's 'brass mounting' to be the belt buckle.
