already know about this but it wouldn't hurt to send it out. Anyone??
Dear Nonprofit Colleagues in the Local Community:
We will begin the process to donate to local nonprofit agencies from the
Cottonwood Hospital surplus on Monday, 2/4. Many of you have sent wish
lists; we appreciate that. At this point, it is still not possible to
say exactly what will be available since the other Intermountain
Healthcare hospitals (20) and clinics, (100 plus) are still picking up
the equipment and furniture they need.
We have determined a process for reviewing the surplus, tagging, and
picking up. There are many groups with many needs; it is our intention
to provide sufficient staff that will help move the process quickly and
efficiently. In order for the process to work, we ask that you respect
the process and follow it completely; please do not ask for exceptions
or special arrangements.
Below is a list of the dates for walk-through visits to Cottonwood
Hospital in order of our priority to help fill direct patient-care needs
first:
1. Nonprofit clinics and hospitals only tour Monday, 2/4 choose
either 9 a.m. or 1 p.m.
2. Career training programs in colleges, universities and ATC tour
Tuesday, 2/5; choose either 9 a.m. or 1 p.m.
3. Nonprofit senior centers, skilled nursing facilities, and human
service agencies, tour Wednesday, 2/6 at 9 a.m.
4. Elementary, middle and high schools, tour Wednesday, 2/6 at 1
p.m.
Follow these steps:
- Choose a time and date according to one of the above categories in
which your organization fits, then please reply to this email with the
specific time your agency will come to Cottonwood.
- We ask that no more than 2 individuals from your organization attend
this walk through. You will not be loading or moving furniture on this
date so you do NOT need a full crew.
- Come to Cottonwood on your selected date and time, park in the parking
lot on the east side of the hospital (5770 S. 300 East), enter the main
door, head north towards the old Cottonwood Administration Offices
follow the signs toward the Intermountain Surplus Walk Through.
Tours will begin precisely at 15 minutes past the hour.
If I don't hear from you or someone from your agency by Thursday, Jan.
31, I will remove your agency from the list.
- We will take small groups through the facility, (wear comfortable
shoes and clothing, there's a lot of space to visit) at the date and
times listed above; agencies will have an opportunity to see the surplus
and place a tag (we'll provide) on that piece of equipment or furniture.
If more than one agency wants it, we suggest you flip a coin or do rock/
paper/scissors, etc., or otherwise work it out.
- Selected surplus must be picked up on either Thursday, 2/7 or Friday,
2/8 between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
- You will be responsible to gather the items from various locations
within the buildings and load them on your vehicles. You are welcome to
bring a crew to help you with this process. Agencies must provide their
own crew to lift, move and load the surplus into their own vehicles.
We will not make any deliveries.
- Any equipment or furniture not picked up by 3 p.m. Friday, 2/8 will
be donated to the next group of nonprofit organizations.
Equipment and furniture not attached to walls, floors or ceilings will
be available.
(Operating Room lights, fixtures, signs, etc. or other wall-mounted
equipment is not available. We continue to use part of the hospital, so
anything attached must stay attached.)
Furniture that is not attached to walls, floors or ceilings, will be
available. No modular office units are available. Also, no beds are
available.
We will not be donating any disposable supplies, patient care supplies,
instruments, pharmaceuticals or linens.
If you have questions, please reply to this email message.
Thanks to everyone for your interest and support in following the steps
above. We will do our best to help you find what you need, but please
remember that much of the clinical equipment has been relocated to our
other patient care facilities.
See you soon.
