Hello all!
I am attaching our 2008 meeting schedule, which will be starting in
January, every other month on the third Friday from 2 until 4 pm. Of
course, what would be rules without exceptions, so our first meeting in
January will be Wednesday January 16th from 2 until 4 pm!
We had some requests from our last meeting that I am also including.
* AAPC has an intern program that people wanted information about.
It is a free program for facilities, and for participating you get a
free yearly audio web conference with CEU's. The program director, and
requirements are attached.
* I have compiled a Medicare resource listing. Included are the
web links to the FQHC manual, training resources, and the email news
sign up. This may be a quick resource if you don't have time to look it
up on the web. Most of the material is from the web, but it's the main
information- Contact, training, manuals links are all included. You can
sign up for part A or part B, and receive a weekly update. I've signed
up for both, and also review and send out information to you
periodically, but you may prefer to review yourself.
* Medicaid does NOT have electronic notices or bulletins at this
time, but they send out Medicaid Information Bulletins (MIB) January,
April, July, October each year.
* Compliance training notes are attached, and will be a continuing
topic for the year.
Our first meeting of the year, January 16th will have a new topic, due
to the immediate concerns with pharmacy billing. Donna Gibbons, our
pharmacy services coordinator, will be joining us, to talk about 340b
pharmacy and how to bill Medicaid for these drugs and injections. She is
also inviting a HRSA reprehensive who is knowledgeable about the 340 b
program. Yes, you get to learn a new acronym. What better way to start
the year??
